Their genus name, Anthurium, comes from the Greek words anthos meaning “flower,” and oura, meaning “tail”. Anthurium andraeanum also known as the 'Flamingo Lily', ' Painters pallete' or 'Tail flower' is a flowering plant species that is native to Colombia and Ecuador. A popular ornamental plant is known for its for its colorful spathes with contrasting green leaves.

VIGILANCE: Growth rate is slow or moderate and dependent on ample light but susceptible to sunburn. Anthuriums are picky. But, their uniquely beautiful flowers make them worth the extra effort.

Care Instructions

Light: These plants as a rule (indoor) will take about as much light as you can provide but does not like direct sunlight. They grow best in bright, indirect light. Anthuriums growing in low light will have fewer flowers and will grow slower.

Watering: Water to keep soil moist. Do not over water and do not allow water to collect in the planter, too much water can cause the roots to die.

Fertilizing: The plant appreciates a dose of liquid fertilizer. Apply a weak solution of 'Plant Fertilizer' to boost plant flowering, health and life span.
