Monstera plant (Monstera adansonii)

Native to Central America, Southern Mexico and Guatemala. Monstera adansonii is known for its beautiful heart-shaped leaves. It differs from the popular Monstera deliciosa variety in that its fenestrations consist of oval-shaped holes throughout the leaf.

Thus you will eventually need to support it indoors by means of a moss pole or a stable structure nearby, such as a column or beam etc. Although not a philodendron, this plant is commonly called split-leaf philodendron.

Light: Bright filtered light throughout the year is best for the plant.

Watering: Keep compost moist, with good drainage. A good rule of thumb is to water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Misting can improve humidity.

Fertilizing: The plant appreciates a dose of liquid fertilizer. Apply a weak solution of 'Plant Fertilizer' to boost plant health and life span.

Soil: Plant in a peat-based potting mix that is rich in organic matter with excellent drainage.
